Plant-galling insect interactions : a data set of host plants and their gall-inducing insects for the Cerrado.

Resumo
Here, we present an open-access database of 968 records of interactions between gall-inducing insects and their host plants for the Brazilian Cerrado, one of the biomes with the highest galling insect diversity on Earth. The data set comprises 505 species of 222 genera and 67 families of host plants, and 48 species of Cecidomyiidae and one species of Tephritidae. Our study reveals knowledge gaps and encourages the execution of new cecidologic inventories in the Cerrado and other locations around the world. Our data set also provides base data for ecological and biogeographic studies.
